Intelligent JBoss Management with Jopr

Overview: While IT budgets may be tightening, demands on technology and business applications never seem to slow down. Enterprise environments are becoming more complex and are aggregating ever more technologies. Integration inside and outside your business continues apace as well, but how do you ensure everything stays up and running? The Jopr project delivers a rich platform for management and monitoring in which custom plugins can be developed and advanced monitoring can be accomplished without having to reinvent the infrastructure wheel each time.

This session will cover the basics of using Jopr and the capabilities it has to be customized and expanded to support your internal applications and other technologies. The AMPS Plugin framework will be demonstrated along with various techniques for management integration. Learn about how to track reliability, perform monitoring and maintain your software with this cohesive, integrated tool set.

Speaker: Greg Hinkle
As the lead of the JBoss Operations Network, Greg Hinkle manages the design and development of systems management for Red Hat Middleware products. He also leads the development of several open source projects in application monitoring and has been working on middleware systems management projects since 2000. Greg has a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
